With basketball winding down, I am pumped to start focusing on softball and baseball season to change up pace. The Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo. asked if I could shoot a doubleheader against local Drury University, which is a five minute drive north of my school.

Photographing the Missouri Valley Conference softball tournament last May was a blast, especially since my school won, but more importantly it taught me anticipation and patience.  The speed of softball is relatively slow, but it is a challenge to capture a great play when it does happen.

The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats dropped a doubleheader to the Drury University Panthers, 4-1 and 2-1, this afternoon at Thompson Field in Springfield, Mo.
