Saluki Rally Spoils Bears Winning Chances

I usually go to sports games early and stay until it is completely over so that I can photograph a story to show a beginning, middle and end. Yesterday though, I only had time to stay for an hour because I had another assignment that followed immediately. This forced me to really pay attention since I needed all the photos I could get in the few short innings I was at Hammons Field.

In-State Rival Mizzou Slips By Bears in Extra Innings

Missouri State’s late rally couldn’t outlast Missouri as the Bears fell 4-3 in 11 innings on Wednesday, April 26, 2012 at Hammons Field.

Sometimes when baseball games are slow, which is most of the time, I challenge myself by finding interesting subject matter besides the action. Here are some of my shots.

Baseball Bears Swatted by No. 28 Purdue

Missouri State contained Purdue, who is ranked top hitting team in the country with a .376 batting average, to only four runs, but could not keep up after an early deficit as MSU lost 4-2 at Hammons Field tonight.

Bears pitcher Clay Murphy struck out eight Boilermakers within seven innings despite Purdue’s three runs in the first three innings to give the visitors the upper hand until the end.

Overall, it was a slow moving game with barely any exciting plays. But shooting baseball was the perfect excuse to be outside in 80 degree weather on a school night.
