Lady Bears Can’t Catch Up in Annual Pink Game

This was probably my weakest shooting game of the season. Luckily the Lady Bears were wearing cool jerseys to make up for my off night.

Legendary Coach, Title IX and Big Lady Bear Win

Today proved to be a great showcase of women’s athletics at JQH. Missouri State won 91-76 over Illinois State, women’s basketball legendary coach Cheryl Burnett had an honorary jersey celebration at halftime and past female MSU student-athletes were recognized during the pregame for the 40th anniversary of Title IX.

It was great to see the girls rebound tremendously from their sloppy game Friday, especially on this monumental day in MSU athletics. I was so glad to be a part of it all. Congratulations to all involved in the ceremonies and in the win. Just like our athletics department’s slogan, and as cheesy as it sounds, it was a great day to be a Bear.

Tenacious Tandem

Everyday when I leave journalism classes from Craig Hall, I walk past a giant wall of 70′s looking glass blocks that sort of resemble ice cubes. I thought it would be an awesome backdrop for an ice hockey portrait when lit with a blue-gelled flash. I am so glad it turned out the way I wanted, and the Ryan brothers were great guys to work with!

Pink Ice

This is the exact type of assignment that I am thankful for my 1D Mark IV. Although the pink ice was a hit among the crowd, it completely threw off my white balance. Its glow ruined every bit of normal looking skin tone, all while I pushed my noise levels at ISO 2500 to keep my shutter around 1/640th for action. Not the ideal situation, but I had a few images I liked.
