Old Dominion’s 12 three-pointers and a career-high of 28 points from Kent Bazemore wore out Missouri State, 73-67, tonight in a nationally-televised matchup in the Sears BracketBusters series on ESPNU.
Although the matchup was statistically close with the Bears out-rebounding the visiting Monarchs 30-29 and both teams scoring 25 field goals, making 11 free throws and committing 9 turnovers, ODU’s 12 three-pointers, which is their second-most this season, stopped MSU from making a comeback.
For the home team, Kyle Weems led with 15 points, while Anthony Downing and Jarmar Gulley notched 13 points apiece. Keith Pickens also scored 11 points for MSU in the team’s first meeting with ODU.
The Bears will finish regular-season play Wednesday against Indiana State.
